Mission and Approach

Corey and his team believe that hope is foundational to good financial planning. Their mission is to educate, serve, and empower, offering clients knowledge, resources, and compassionate support at every stage. Through a range of articles, videos, presentations, and calculators, Corey makes personal finance approachable and actionable.

Thanks to Wealth.com’s specialized estate planning software—an advanced tool for financial advisors that Corey invests in annually—he goes beyond simply explaining estate planning concepts. Corey facilitates access to Wealth.com’s service so they can help clients prepare and update wills and simple trusts, a service few advisors offer. While most advisors cannot provide tax or legal advice, Corey is licensed to give tax guidance. He is not an attorney and does not offer legal advice, but through Wealth.com’s platform, clients can conveniently create or revise their wills and basic trusts. For more complex situations, Wealth.com’s nationwide network of attorneys can assist, allowing Corey to coordinate every part of your financial picture with confidence.

Corey works closely with families to clarify their wishes, create intentional strategies for asset transfer, and ensure every generation—especially children—understands those wishes while their parents are still living. This proactive approach helps families avoid confusion and conflict, maintaining harmony and honoring family values for years to come.

A firm believer in personalized advice, Corey uses the DISC Index to understand each client’s personality style. His own predominant style is Cautious—he takes the time needed to ensure clients and their children understand their options and make informed, confident decisions together.

Corey believes that politics is generally best left undiscussed in client relationships, focusing instead on what unites us—preparing for the challenges ahead, not fighting over divisive issues. If you must know, Corey considers himself a moderate, always striving to understand both sides and prioritize forward-thinking solutions for his clients and community.

Access to the Wealth.com website is granted to you by Wealth, Inc. through your Cetera associated financial professional solely in his/her capacity as a subscriber, which provides you with access to certain estate planning documents. Should you choose to use Wealth.com to access estate planning documents, you will supply information directly to Wealth.com, and Wealth.com will provide you with draft estate planning documents. None of Cetera financial professionals, or Wealth, Inc. are acting as an attorney or providing legal advice in any fashion. All such documents generated by Wealth.com are subject to Wealth.com’s terms and conditions, which you should review. You should not rely on these documents until, at a minimum, you have reviewed and finalized them with an attorney from Wealth.com’s nationwide network of attorneys on retainer. Prior to finalizing any documents, Cetera also encourages you to seek personalized estate planning advice from as many qualified professionals as appropriate to evaluate your individual estate planning needs and to review your estate plan documents. With financial experts Dave Ramsey and his daughter Rachel Cruze in late 2014, when Rachel was expecting her first daughter. We shared ideas on smart money management and ways to empower individuals, families, and business owners to pursue financial confidence.

A longtime fan of Dave Ramsey, Corey believes in the time-tested principles of smart money management and financial freedom. While Corey remains passionate about making financial education accessible, he now focuses on serving investors with at least $250,000 of investable assets. This ensures he can provide truly personalized, high-level service to each client he serves.

Military Service & Personal Values

Before entering the financial profession, Corey served four years in the United States Navy. In 1990, he was deployed to the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, an experience that instilled deep pride and forged his lifelong respect for veterans and all who serve.

During his deployment, Corey found connection to home through sports—following the University of Washington Huskies’ championship season from afar, even as a lifelong Washington State University Cougars fan. The sense of community, perseverance, and pride in these moments continues to inspire his work and support for others.

Education & Early Leadership

After his military service, Corey pursued a business degree at the University of Washington (UW). There, he founded the Dow Dawgs Investment Club, leading peers on trips to the New York Stock Exchange and San Francisco’s financial district. These formative experiences sparked a passion for investing that still drives his service to clients today.

Giving Back

Corey is deeply committed to financial education, especially for young people. He founded the nonprofit The Extra Mile Academy (TEMA) to empower high school students with essential financial skills—from budgeting to investing. For Corey, TEMA represents a vital part of “Living and Giving like no one else.”

A Modern, Connected Practice

With the growth of remote work, Corey can now tap into talent and resources from across the country—not just his immediate region. His trusted virtual assistant, based out of a Cetera office in San Diego, is well-versed in Cetera’s systems, ensuring smooth support for clients no matter their location. Thanks to this structure, you might walk into Corey’s office and find him working solo—evidence of his forward-thinking, highly connected approach.
